Plan a Spooktacular Halloween

Do you really wanna see something scary? Check out the stock market. You can also plan a Monster Bash Halloween, or something that is a little more edgy and gives an Enter If You Dare feeling.

If you are undecided, here’s some ideas we love that might help you to plan a spooktacular Halloween!
PLAN: A Halloween Bash like no other before it at your place.
ORGANIZE: Your friends, some fabulous food and delicious drinks that are fun to make and to serve.
DECORATE YOUR SPACE: Recycle decorations from your Halloween library and refresh with some new + fun stuff.
GO CREATIVE WITH COSTUMES: Try something new with a ‘girls night in party’ prior to your Halloween event. Everyone brings ‘donations’ from their closet or prior favorite costumes to throw into the mix of ideas. Remember it’s about creativity, not dollars and these costumes will be fun and free.
BUY: Pumpkins. Strut your skills as a master carver (or not), use stencils or draw faces, but pumpkins are a must, so buy some and put them everywhere. They just look great.

Oh, and check out these Frankie and Mummy salt & pepper shakers. They are one of our fabulous finds for this Halloween.

Happy Organizing!

Boo!Halloween Glass Decals

Are these the cutest decals? I love them because it’s an inexpensive way to transform glass items from everyday to Halloween.

organizeeverything1_2120_281169590

Choose from spooky word decals or creepy eye decals that work on transforming bar glasses, wine glasses, glass pitchers and decorative mirrors in a flash. The fun is really in the creativity of what you can do with these Halloween decals.

Our buyers and editors had lots of fun bringing together our mummies, ghosts and frankies throughout our Halloween assortment this year. We hope you will, too. Whether you are throwing a Halloween bash or baking for the children, it’s time to get planning for a fun and fabulous Halloween.

Have a great weekend!

Nate Berkus Live!

Yes, my secret crush went live today on NBC. I hit record on the DVR this morning before I even brushed my teeth. PHOTO_10630596_166953_25004317_ap_604X340

Nate Berkus may have made his fame redesigning homes on Oprah, but he’s on his own and it sounds like he’s ready to be solo. Nate appeared on Oprah more than 80 times in the last 8 years and I loved how genuinely happy he was every time he helped all 127 families.

“For me, I feel like I graduated from the best talk-show host school that has ever existed on the planet,” Berkus told Zap2it. “I’m ready to do this on my own. I feel so good about the ideas we’re going to do, what people are really going to see, how we’re really going to be able to empower people to live better.”

Nate Berkus “Life By Design” premiered today and featured segments about “buying secondhand online” and “turning family finds into fortunes”, according the show’s website. Celebrity guests include Elizabeth Edwards, Dolly Parton, Julianne Moore, Jamie Lee Curtis and Kim Coles during this premiere week.

Nate has an new instant 3-D design studio that looks fantastic and he’ll start with a kitchen makeover contest. Mrs. O would LOVE to help Nate with any makeover and you know how I love designing on a dime from “the inspiration room”! Hmmm – how did Betty White and Facebook land her on SNL?

I think Nate does have more to bring to the audience and not only is he adorable, but he’s humble. What a combination.

I’ll be watching tonight, but did you love it?

Happy Launch Day to Nate! I know you will be fabulous.

Sooner or Later…

I just had to share today’s Real Simple Quote of the Day with you. I laughed to myself.

“Sooner or later we all quote our mothers.”
― Bern Williams

If you happen to love quotes or save them as I do, think about organizing them in a journal. Something as simple as a little black book or making one that is as creative as you are will work.  I’m doing a book that I will some day pass down to my daughter. I know she will sit down and read it some day, probably curled up with a hot cup of tea and remembering some really good things.

Enjoy!
