Organize The Best Easter Egg Hunt Ever

It’s spring, the sun is shining and Easter is around the corner! I love this time of the year for many reasons, but it just makes me happy. Whether you are setting your table for Easter Brunch, decorating your house for Easter or looking to plan an Easter Egg Hunt, we have put together the key items to organize your day and make it fun.

We had lots of fun pulling together ideas for the Best Easter Egg Hunt Ever! Here are some of the cold hard facts of a good Easter Egg Hunt:

-Plan on hiding at least a half dozen eggs per child to make it fun!

-Make a map for yourself so you don’t lose any of your eggs that aren’t found the next day.

-Some eggs need to be easier to find for the little kids, and some much more difficult for the older children.

-For little ones two and under, carpet a smaller area with dozens of eggs.

-School-age children love a challenge, so get creative and use a ladder when hiding their eggs!

-Everyone should get a prize. This can be chocolates, pencils, or cool cash or coins! (We loved counting and comparing who got more!)

Most of all – have fun with the children. I have good childhood Easter memories, from dress coats, white gloves and new Mary Jane’s, to Easter Sunday Brunch and Easter Egg Hunts. It was a great and I’ll remember it forever.

Happy Spring!

The article, written by Dayana Yochim, features and array of items that include cheap gardening tips, relaxing with a bottle of Charles Shaw’s “Two Buck Chuck”, indulging in a mini cup of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, and making nice with a your favorite Fido by purchasing a box of Milk-Bone dog biscuits.

Coming in at #37 on the list you will find one of Organize.com’s most popular products, the Pocket.doc from Buttoned Up®.  This little gem (priced at $3.99) is great for keeping vital medical information on hand at all times.  It is approximately the size of a credit card and keeps record of all your essential emergency, medical, insurance and contact information.  We hope you will never need it, but if you do, it’s great to have with you.

Neatnix has a wonderful assortment of organizational products that help you neatly store anything from fine jewelry to those pesky junk drawer items we have all seen scattered throughout the kitchen and office drawers.

Keep in mind Jewelry Storage can be fashionable and practical all at the same time.  There are many different options when it comes to this category that include everything from inside the drawer organizers to hanging jewelry organizers to small furniture items centered around organizing and protecting your jewelry.

Tax Time is Here!

For Americans everywhere tax time is just around the corner! It’s time to stop procrastinating and start getting your tax paperwork organized for April 15th. We have organizing tools to help you get your taxes all buttoned up.

Start by sorting through your old receipts, put them in appropriate categories. Buttoned Up Tax Filer is a great way to sort through old receipts and also to keep future receipts organized so that you won’t be dreading tax time again next year. Why wait? It’s a fact: What you put off for later ultimately only creates additional stress. Gather, organize and account for papers, receipts, etc. well in advance of the April 15 filing deadline. Start a system that allows for daily, weekly and monthly tax maintenance which will keep you way ahead of schedule and eliminate the turmoil of tax time!

Happy Organizing!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

As St. Patrick’s day was celebrated around the world today, it reminded me that this is truly a day that connects the world. Whether you are American, Italian, French, Australian or Canadian, everyone proclaims themselves as Irish on March 17th and is ready to celebrate!

We just returned from Chicago (boy can those Chicagoans party!), where green clothes of any kind, green bow-ties, green leprechaun hats, green beer and even a green river ruled!

At 11:00 am this morning, the St. Patricks Day Parade marched up 5th Avenue in Manhattan with more than 150,000 participating this year. I just love those kilts and bagpipes!

In Ireland, the St. Patrick’s Day festival ranks among the best celebrations in the world and is celebrated for six-days. It takes 18 months of planning and a full staff to manage a calendar of activities to celebrate this most traditional day we have come to know

Where ever you are around the world, Erin Go Bragh! For all of us that don’t’ know what this means (but wonder!), it translates to “Ireland until eternity”, according to Wikipedia!

Happy Organizing!

Spring Clean Your Kitchen: Part 2

So you’ve given the kitchen a good cleaning; put all the dishes away, wiped down the walls, countertops, cabinets and appliances, now it’s time to tackle the fridge and the pantry.  This is your last step; hang in there, you’re almost done!

Here is a list of tools you may want to gather when you are Spring Cleaning your Kitchen:

Over Cabinet Towel Rack, Drawer Organizers, Utensil Caddy, Cabinet & Shelf Organizers, Pantry Organizers, Under Sink Storage, Trash & Recycle Bins

Now that you have all the tools you need, it’s time to get started.  Here’s how:

Now…the hard part, let’s conquer the fridge! First, go through the doors and throw away any expired condiments and products you don’t use. Once you are left with the items you’re keeping, remove them temporarily and wipe down the shelves and door with a cleaning cloth and all purpose cleaner. Then you can return all items to the shelves. Next, do the same with the drawers in the refrigerator and continue throughout the fridge, throwing away expired products. When placing items back, group them together so they’re easy to find; Milk/Juices, yogurts, cheeses, deli meats, fruits, vegetables, etc. Don’t forget to go through the freezer and toss out old items, especially those with serious freezer burn! Sort freezer shelves by category; frozen meals, frozen vegetables, desserts & ice cream, etc.

Drawers, Cabinets, & Pantry…Oh My! Not to worry, it’s what we do. Get a stylish Utensil Caddy to sit next your stove, all your frequently used utensils are easier to grab from here. Dedicate a drawer to the rest of the utensils using a utensil organizer to keep them neat. Flatware caddies are essential for your everyday forks, spoons and knives. Organize your other drawers into categories; measuring cups/spoons, specialty cooking tools, smaller appliances, oven mitts and pot holder, cutting boards etc. Upper cabinets can be as organized as you want them; you could use plate racks, shelf inserts, lazy suzan’s, spice shelves…see for yourself! Roll out drawers are especially handy for lower cabinets to store pots and pans, lids, small appliances and tupperware. Get inspired by our solutions to organize your pantry with wall grid systems, shelf organizers, spice storage and more! You’ll be amazed how sometimes the simplest of things can make your life that much easier.

At this point you have learned how to “Tackle the Tough Spots” & “Spring Clean by Room” and now it’s time sit back and relax and start thinking about the good times and great weather ahead.

Happy Organizing!
